I don’t go on Facebook often and sometimes I get a message on Facebook and I never know. I need to have it send me an email notice at my regular non- facebook email address when there is a message for me on face book. How do I do that? Thanks.

How does facebook know who my friends are on my yahoo messenger friends list?
In the People you may know section on facebook they are suggesting friends that I’ve never met in person who live in other states and have no mutual friends. How would facebook know that I know them?

When you signed up, you probably added your email address, and there is a check box that asks if you would like to allow facebook to add your contacts from that email address. You probably didnt uncheck it.
Not 100% sure, but i think you can remove your email contacts from your facebook ones in the settings somewhere.

How can I stop Facebook Mobile numbers overriding the numbers in my contact list on my HTC Desire?
Whenever I link a Facebook account to a contact in my contact list on my HTC Desire, the number stored on the phone is overwritten by the Facebook mobile number. I’ve tried switching off Contact-Sync in the Facebook app settings, but it still happens. Is there any way to stop this happening?

When i hover over my name on Facebook a popup box appears showing 5 friends and the list barely changes whenever i bring it back up. How does Facebook decide which friends turn up? Is it the people who view my profile the most?

How does it match the contacts in your phone with your friends on facebook? Some of my friends pics showed up in my contacts but others did not. So does it match phone numbers, names, or email? What about if the person has downloaded facebook on the blackberry but does not have their phone number listed on facebook? Will it pick them up then if you do not have their entire name listed on contacts list? Thanks to anyone who can help me answer these questions!

I would seriously suggest you not installing that app on your phone. It totally screwed up my BB calender. The only good thing it did was put the pictures of the people from facebook in my contacts but everything else was a mess.

When sharing a link through a wall post, Facebook grabs images from the destination site. How are these images determined and can you set parameters on your site to allow Facebook to get certain images or block certain images?

It automatically takes any of the pictures they can find from the website (unless ther is no pix on the site in which case u cannot show a pic)

I was reading in the news today that Facebook has become literally addicting for many people, young and old, that it’s starting to interfere with daily functioning.
There is now counseling and support groups to help those with specific addictions to Facebook.
How have we gotten to this point?

It became very addicting for me. I banned myself from it yesterday (not deleted my account – just made it so my computer won’t load the pages).

Some people who I’ve never interacted with via Facebook show up on the friends online display on chat, while people who have written on my wall don’t always show up there. How does Facebook decide?

It is not f’book that decides its just, hows everyone who is online, even if you have never talked to them on chat before, as long as you have them added as a friend then it will show u when they are online
